I love water colors! They’re honestly a great medium.
Growing up I never thought I’d be able to get smooth, flat colors with traditional mediums. Water Based markers, colored pencils, cheap water colors. I thought coloring was just doomed to have streaks, scribbles, and paper showing through.
Then I took a painting class, I bought alcohol markers, and I saw how others used these mediums to make amazingly detailed work. Now I love water colors. It’s so simple now. I never dreamed I’d like painting, but after learning basic techniques, mixing colors, water control, masking, I’m able to actually make decent art!

Goes to show that you shouldn’t judge a tool based on how you try to use it the first time. Though those cheep watercolor brushes with the five lil bits on the end aren’t doing anyone any favors…
